TURKEY MOON DAYS 2010   If you can get out in the middle of the week for that trophy tom in April your best shot is April 14-16 and April 27-29..Weather factors that will magnify the activity will be a clear morning with a dew or frost and highs of 60 degrees or better..In the mornings if your dewpoint is within 3 degrees of the temperature skip work and go call in a trophy bird.Good Luck and remember to fill out the Turkey Log Books!

Solar Weather Activity(Late Oct.2009)!   The solar weather this year has been at an all-time low. Our past research has shown that active solar weather gives a definite boost to deer activity... from the increase in the geo-magnetic forces as the storms impact earth. Well, this past week the sun woke up. On October 21st and 22nd, the earth was hit with a fairly strong storm caused from new sunspots forming on the sun. The sunspots went from 0 to over 20 in 2 days. Solar winds went from a normal level to almost a 50% increase during these two days. The storm had an impact on earth until late last night (October 25). The reason I bring this up is that this all-time low in solar activity will begin to rise to normal levels, one of these days and then continue to rise to it's next solar maximum. If this last week is the beginning of this, it would be a great benefit for the upcoming weeks of the pre-rut and rut. We have many trail cameras out and last week on the 22nd, we had numerous pictures of several large bucks...one of them a monster! The times of day that they were on camera where times that weren't neccessarily great "moon times", the weather conditions were not doing anything special either. Could it have been the increased geo-magnetic forces of a space weather storm hitting the earth, pushing the animals into movement? Very possible! It's definitely something that is worth watching. Keep checking the home page space weather dials and also the solar weather page on the days you go hunting. Increased solar weather is like a big cup of coffee for the day...it gives all things a big boost! Good Luck to all...Johnny

How to use WEATHER2HUNT  There are many tools on this site for hunters and fishermen. They can be used individually or all together. All the data was created from harvests and field observations all over the U.S. for the past 20 years. When looking at 24 hour and 3-5 day forecasts for your zip code, remember these are averages of all factors. A difference of 5 points can be a large jump in activity. Also remember, you can have great temperatures, pressure and cloud cover but if the wind is blowing 40 mph it will override the other factors. Here are my personal preferences of importance: A. Keep Track of your barometric pressure over 30.00 and rising is best. B. Keep track of your air temperature vs. the dewpoint. If their within 3-4 of each other that's excellent. C. Keep track of departures from normal 3-10 degrees below normal increases deer activity. D. Cloudy sky cover, light precip. and a 5-15 mph wind is best. The big three graph uses the importance of moon phases, because of this it will not coincide with the strictly weather graphs. Make sure you use the drop down menu at the top of the home page. There are tools for moon, astrological, water temps, food plots, climitology historical averages and much more. ENJOY!
